Thelma Gutierrez

Traditional Yucatec Maya Healer
Massage Therapist at Balance Point Wellness

My name is Thelma Gutierrez, and I was born and raised in the rural village of Santa Familia, Cayo District. I come from a lineage of healers, including my great-grandmother Delfina Tun, a village midwife, and my grandfather Alejandro Torres, a respected Maya spiritual healer and bone setter. My mother, Beatrice Waight, a well-known herbalist and Maya spiritual leader, instilled in me a deep respect for nature, self-sustainability, and the importance of giving back. From childhood, I was immersed in the traditions of the Yucatec Maya—learning the power of plants, the wisdom of healing, and the beauty of caring for others. My journey led me to train as a professional massage therapist, blending traditional Mayan healing with holistic wellness. I've had the privilege of learning from esteemed mentors, including Ann Drucker, Keath Silva, and my uncle Narcisso Torres, deepening my knowledge of medicinal plants and traditional healing practices. Today, I am honored to share these ancestral gifts through massage and wellness, offering care with love, respect, and a deep connection to the healing traditions of my heritage. With Love and Respect, Thelma Martita Gutierrez

Clarita Pot

Massage Therapist at Balance Point Wellness

Hi, I’m Clarita Pot. I’ve lived in the beautiful village of Bullet Tree my whole life, and I truly love this peaceful little corner of Belize.

I studied at the Holistic School of Massage here in Belize, and I’ve been working as a massage therapist for the past few years. Helping people feel relaxed, renewed, and at ease brings me so much joy—seeing the calm on a client’s face after a session makes me feel truly blessed.

I consider myself a happy, strong, and healthy woman. I enjoy early morning walks, jogging, and living a balanced, active lifestyle. It’s a gift to do work that helps others feel their best, and I’m grateful every day for the opportunity.

A little life quote I live by:
“Trust the timing of your life.”
